Greece
In summer of 2025, my friends and I set off on a road trip through Greece — and of course, I packed all my painting materials.
From island set in the dazzling blue sea to famous monuments in Athens and ancient ruins baking in the hot sun, the trip was full of visual inspiration and I managed to capture at piece of that in my sketchbooks.

The main stop of our trip, of course, were Athens. We spent a day exploring the Acropolis and the museum, and then the next day walked through another section of the city. I never thought seeing famous monuments in person would be so rewarding!
If I were Odysseus, Kalymnos would be my Ithaca. Fittingly, our journey began here. As the ferry pulled away at sunrise, I tried to capture the moment in watercolor. It’s messy and imperfect, but it hold the memory from that morning for me. And that’s the point of a sketchbook to me.
We continued into the continental part of Greece. First we stopped in Delphi and admired the ancient ruins in the scorching sun. We made the last stop way north, exploring the otherworldly monasteries in the sky — Meteora.
